Marshfield Drama Club heads Into the Woods

MARSHFIELD – “Into the Woods,” the popular Stephen Sondheim musical that was adapted by Disney in a movie-musical in 2013 will hit the Marshfield High School stage April 11-13.
Presented by the Marshfield Drama Club, the musical is based on the well-known stories of the Brothers Grimm fairytales, including: Little Red Ridinghood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella, as well as the scary witch known in so many other tales. The fairy tale characters embark on their own personal journeys into the woods, along with a Baker and his wife who long to have a child. On their quests for self-fulfillment, they learn that sometimes there are consequences for the decisions made in life.
The show consists of 75 plus students participating in cast, crew and pit, including a wide range of performers from all grade levels: Eben Lonsdale, junior, performs as the narrator for the story; Anna Weis, sophomore, is the evil Witch neighbor to the Baker, played by senior Zach Iniguez, and the Baker’s Wife, junior Riya Bolander; in addition, Cinderella is played by senior Paige Bulgrin; Jack, performed by freshman TylanCokl; Rapunzel is played by junior Kinsey Regehr, and the hilariously pompous Princes are performed by senior Jacob Gilbertson and junior Jarreth Schaefer. The show is directed by Amanda Leurquin, with music direction by Greg Reierson and Dave Carroll, pit conductor, and choreographed by Joelle Clark.
