MARSHFIELD – The 30-year-old driver who led Marshfield officers on a car chase has turned himself in.

On March 28, at approximately 9:24 p.m., Marshfield officers attempted to pull a vehicle over for failing to stop for a red light at the Doege Street and North Central Avenue intersection. Upon initiating the traffic stop, the suspect vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed turning north on North Walnut Avenue.

The driver failed to stop for a stop sign at West Ives Street and North Walnut Avenue and at the T-intersection at West Upham Street and North Walnut Avenue. The vehicle hit an embankment and crashed, rolling onto the roof.

The driver fled on foot and the passenger was taken into custody, after refusing medical treatment. The passenger was later released with no charges. The driver, Brandon S. Shaw, 30, turned himself in to Marshfield Police on March 29 at 10 a.m. He was later transported to Wood County Jail.

Charges have been requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s office for Shaw, for felony eluding an officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
