Thomas L. Volland, age 58, of rural Neillsville, gently went home with angels from heaven on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 following a year and a half battle with lung cancer.  He was under the care of his long-time, devoted companion, Alicia Schaub, and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Thomas Leo Volland was born on March 8, 1960 in Neillsville, WI, the son of William E. and Bernice E. (nee Straub) Volland.  He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Neillsville schools, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1978.  After graduating from high school, Tom worked various jobs, most recently at Shaw’s Wrecking in Marshfield.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed working on small engines, trapping small game, deer hunting, and other outdoor activities.
Tom will be dearly missed by five siblings: Diane Aumann-Nowak (John) of Spencer, Sharon (Stanley) Ratsch of Greenwood, Barbara (Leroy) Johnson of Granton, Judy (Charles) Johnson of Greenwood, William A. Volland of Neillsville; the very special lady in his life, Alicia Schaub, of Neillsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law: Charles F. Aumann.
Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
