White tigers are coming to the Central Wisconsin State Fair

MARSHFIELD – Visitors to this summer’s Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield will get a chance to see an attraction never before seen at the venue. Executive Director Dale Christiansen says the fair is bringing in a tiger display for all six days of the fair in August.
“We are bringing in the White Tiger Discovery, and what they are is a zoological exhibit, and they’re coming in with three or four different tigers,” he said, “and it’s kind of an educational thing. You can go into this exhibit, and you will get all types of information as to where tigers originate from, how they live, and their life cycle.”
Christiansen says visitors will have to pay a small fee to go inside the White Tiger Discovery. Additional fees can also be paid for pictures with the tigers, or for a chance to feed them.
“It’s bringing in something that you don’t see every day,” Christiansen added. “It gives us an addition on our midway that is something different, and gives people another reason to come out and visit the fair.”
The White Tiger Discovery Zoological Exhibit is based in Chicago, IL.
“The white tiger is just one of their displays,” Christiansen said. “They’ve got numerous other displays that go out.” When Christiansen contacted the organization, they still had the white tigers available for the week of the fair in Marshfield.
Christiansen is also adding some new entertainment this year, including “Miller and Mike” – a juggling and comedy act out of the Oshkosh area.
“They can do a lot of different things,” according to Christiansen. “They do their comedy routine, their juggling routine, and they will do some stilt-walking out on the midway and interact with our fairgoers. They are very kid-friendly, very people-friendly, and I think it’s going to be a good addition for our youth at the fair this year. Young and old alike will enjoy them.”
Christiansen also says the high dive act that made its Central Wisconsin State Fair debut last summer is coming back this year.
“That show went over very big last year,” he said. “Last year. they came in with a pirate ship and that theme. They’ll be coming in with a different theme this year. They were very happy with our fair and the community, and they were very eager to come back.”
Christiansen also says The Memories will be back for Senior Day again this year. The Memories will perform two shows on Aug. 21. The Central Wisconsin State Fair will run Aug. 20-25.
