Suspect charged in Neillsville church vandalism

Neillsville – One person has been charged for the vandalism of a Neillsville church.
On March 1 at about 6:48 a.m., Neillsville Police officers were called to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1813 Black River Rd., Neillsville, in reference to vandalism. When officers arrived on scene they discovered several religious statues and wall hangings that had been severely damaged throughout the church and worship area.
Detectives from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were requested to assist the Neillsville Department in processing the crime scene, while Neillsville officers followed leads in the case.
One tip led officers to a person of interest who has since been arrested. The suspect has been identified as Seth A. Meier of Lublin. On March 5, Meier was charged in Clark County Circuit Court with burglary of a building or dwelling and criminal damage to religious property.
