Brian W. Leffel, 59, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Reverend Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hewitt with Bill Engebrect, Mark Sternweis, Roy Westley, Hunter Martin, Jack Cole, and Rick Wischershein serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday from 9:30 am until service time at church. A prayer service will take place at 5:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
Brian was born on March 12, 1959 in Marshfield to Willis and Tina (Pankratz) Leffel. He attended St. John’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1977. He also attended the University of Wisconsin – Marshfield/Wood County where he earned an Associates Degree. He worked at Marathon Travel, Midstate Travel, Preferred Travel, and Quality Travel where he helped the company earn over one million dollars twice. In 2006, he contracted sepsis and was no longer able to work.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, and was also in the Marshfield Pool League and Dart League. He enjoyed golf, pool, darts, collecting sports memorabilia and coins from other countries, fishing, reading, Xbox gaming, playing cards, and traveling. Brian and his sister, Sharon, traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Reno, Niagara Falls, Epcot Center Florida, West Caribbean cruise, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, East Caribbean cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Martin. He also went to England through work.
Brian is survived by his mother, Tina of Marshfield, sister, Sharon (Gordon) Lesmeister of Arpin, niece, Tracy (Duane) Martin of Granton, great nephew, Hunter Martin of Holmen, and great nieces, Kaityln Martin and Samantha Martin, both of Granton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis, sister, Patricia at birth, and grandparents, Anna and Ernest Leffel and Anna and John Pankratz.
Brian was honest, a hard worker, loved his family, very competitive in pool, golf, and darts, and was a person to never give up no matter what life threw at him. He will be truly missed by his family and loyal friends.
