2018 Wood County Farm Tech Days

For the Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD – The Wood County Farm Tech committee is offering grant opportunities available from the proceeds earned through the 2018 Farm Technology Days show held last summer near Marshfield.

Non-profit, public, and community groups in Wood and surrounding counties, with ideas to increase agricultural-related education opportunities or enhance rural communities and agriculture awareness, are encouraged to apply.

Education grants are intended for projects that generate or enhance educational opportunities that increase knowledge and understanding of agriculture and food systems for Central Wisconsin residents.

Community grants can be used to create, implement, or enhance an agricultural-related community project that has a long-term benefit to the area.

Grant requests can range between $500-50,000. Preference will be given to projects that develop leadership skill-building opportunities for youth, families, and adults. The committee is also looking for proposals that would benefit a large population of residents in Wood County and surrounding areas.

The deadline to apply for grant funding is April 1. For more information, visit http://www.wifarmtechnologydays.com/wood/ or call the Wood County UW-Extension office at 715-421-8440.
