MARSHFIELD – Following the recent announcement of Figi’s Companies closures and layoffs, the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MACCI) is spearheading an area-wide employment fair to help connect employers with job seekers. The event will be held Jan. 24 at the UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield campus, 2000 West Fifth St., Marshfield, with employer booths set up in the university’s gymnasium noon – 6 p.m.

Nearly 50 businesses will be on-site recruiting for professional, technical, and service-related job opportunities; about 600 jobs are currently available, including full-time, part-time, casual, and seasonal positions.

Educational and resource organizations will also be available to provide career exploration/skill development information.  This will be a great one-stop event to explore the many jobs available in the area. A second employment fair is also planned for March 7 at the UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield location.

For more information, contact MACCI Workforce Development Director Karen Isaacson at 715-384-3454.
