Auburndale starts out strong, Assumption finishes stronger

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale Apache girls started the game Jan. 10 at Auburndale High School against conference rival Assumption with a 10-3 lead after eight minutes of play. Assumption started fighting back and had the lead 22-20 at halftime. Assumption then dominated the second half, outscoring the Apaches 31-21, leading them to a 56-41 victory.
High scorers for the night were Maddy Bohn, Assumption, with 18 points, and Natalie Aue for Auburndale with 14.
Assumption plays next Jan. 14 at Port Edwards in a non-conference match up.
Auburndale meets Greenwood on the road on Jan. 14 for a non-conference match up, as well.
