Marion J. Herkert, 61, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield.

Marion was born on February 19, 1957 in Marshfield, to George and LaMalle (Diers) Winkler. She was a 1975 graduate of Columbus High School. She later received her Masters degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

She married Gregory P. Herkert on August 21, 1982 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield.

Marion had been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, for 20 years. She then was an English Teacher at Owen-Withee High School for 3 years. She enjoyed gardening, preserving and was a very avid reader. She was a huge Packer fan, and especially liked Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Marion was an organ donor and her liver helped to save someone else’s life.

Marion is survived by her husband, Greg, her son Peter Herkert of Marshfield and her daughter, Hannah Herkert of Stevens Point. She is also survived by her parents, George and LaMalle Winkler of Marshfield, her sister, Caryl (Jim) Blenker of Marshfield, and her brothers, Michael Winkler of Chicago and Mark Winkler and his wife Sheila Brody of Denver, CO.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Marion’s name to the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library.
