Wallace “Wally” A. Henseler

Wallace A. “Wally” Henseler, 87, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 12th, 2018 at Wells Nature View under the care of Ascension Home Hospice.
Wally was born September 1, 1931 in Marshfield to John J. and Mary A. (Schumacher) Henseler. He grew up in the vicinity of Bakerville and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1950. He married Kay J. Kirschner June 4, 1955 at Our Lady of Peace in Marshfield. Together they raised five children.
He was employed in the grocery business for 50 years, starting right after graduation at the A&P Store. For 2 years he was transferred to the Oconomowoc location and later moved back to Marshfield. Wally was a member of the local National Guard for 8 years attaining the rank of Sargent First Class.
He was an usher at OLP for many years, a member of the Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council 1799. After his retirement he volunteered at the Atrium Assisted Living Center. An avid genealogist, he has notebooks filled with his relatives origins. Wally also enjoyed coin collecting, woodworking & furniture restoration, and a fishing trip at Red Lake in Ontario, Canada.
His motto was: “If you’re going to do a job, do it right.”
He is survived by his wife Kay of 63 years; children: Susan (Robert) Kult, Karen Drachenberg, Daniel Henseler all of Marshfield, Jennifer (Sidney) Brevard of Daphne, AL, and Julie Henseler of New Haven, CT. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws Marian Henseler, and Mary Gease; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mildred Hamel and Lucille Steltenpohl; and brothers Richard and Harold Henseler.
There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church to be determined at a later date.
