Local business loses over $13,000 in false credit card sales
An employee of a local business reported that a customer from Minneapolis, MN requested service on a vehicle. The work was completed and the vehicle owner’s credit card was charged over a couple of transactions beginning June 2018. The credit card transactions were charged back as they were all declined, leaving a monetary loss of over $13,000.

Man arrested after traffic stop
At 9:06 p.m., a Marshfield police officer made a traffic stop with a man who the Wood County Sherriff’s office reported as being involved in a disturbance and then leaving the scene. The man was stopped and ultimately placed under arrest for OAR – alcohol related offense – as well as OWI – fourth offense.

Drunk and disorderly
At 12:03 a.m., a 20-year-old Marshfield woman called to report that a 22-year-old intoxicated Marshfield man had pushed a 21-year-old Marshfield woman to the ground after an argument. Officers arrived and investigated. The 22-year-old male was arrested and taken to the Wood County Jail. Charges are pending for false imprisonment and battery – domestic related conduct.
December 2
Marshfield officer’s observation leads to arrest
At 4:58 p.m., a Marshfield police officer responded to a local bar for the removal of a disorderly man. The man was ultimately removed; however, the officer recognized a woman at the bar who was out on bond with a no bar, no drink clause. The woman was arrested and transported to Wood County Jail.
Marshfield man just likes watching ice skating
At 7:54 p.m., a Marshfield woman reported noticing a 30-year-old Marshfield man that was showing up at a skating rink watching skaters the past several weeks. The man always seemed nervous and fidgety when approached. His behavior was making skaters and parents uncomfortable. Police arrived and spoke with the man who stated he just liked to watch the skaters and then agreed to leave.
