MARSHFIELD – On Nov. 19, Marshfield Area Parent Network will host two distinguished speakers who will discuss the facts and myths about vaping, during a presentation held at the Marshfield High School Auditorium, 1401 E. Becker Rd., Marshfield, 5:30-7:15 p.m.

Join the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) and Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY), in collaboration with the Unified School District of Marshfield and Columbus Catholic Schools, and learn about one of the most commonly used tobacco products among young people, according to Mitch Zellner, director of the food and Drug Administration’s Center for Tobacco Products.

One of the presenters will focus on the aggressive marketing techniques used to target youth to vape. The second presenter, from the field of adolescent medicine, will discuss the physical effects of vaping, potential addiction issues for the future, and answer any questions audience members might have.

Free drinks and appetizers are available at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation starting at 6 p.m. Registration at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8LQ8DSG. Provide the first and last name of participant(s), and if requesting free childcare, provide the age of children.

For more information, contact Jodi Chojnacki, Marshfield Clinic Health System Center for Community Health Advancement, 715-221-8419 or chojnacki.jodi@marshfieldclinic.org.
