Unlit trailer leads to arrest

At 8:54 p.m., a Wood County Deputy stopped a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man. The vehicle was pulling a trailer, with no working headlights. The trailer was also obstructing the view of the license plate. It was determined the driver was intoxicated. The vehicle was secured and arrangements were made for someone to pick up the vehicle.

October 27

Smashingly bad time

At 1:48 p.m., a township of Arpin man called to report that the windows of his vehicles had been smashed. The investigation is still ongoing.

Passenger left behind

At 4:36 p.m., a Saratoga gas station employee called to report a gas drive off. The employee also stated that the driver left a person behind at the store. The person left behind starting walking to their destination. Police were able to locate the thief and the 35-year-old man was arrested.

Chasing deer

At 9:42 p.m., a town of Cary woman called to report that there were six four-wheelers going up and down the road next to her residence. It appeared the people were shining deer and then chasing after them. Officers were able to locate the individuals, and they were warned for their behavior.

No dog left behind

At 3:26 a.m., a 22-year-old Arpin woman called asking for help regarding her friend’s dogs. Her friend is in jail and left the dogs at her residence. She is unsure who is going to care for the dogs while he is incarcerated. A deputy came and explained options for her and the dogs.

Truck stolen while at bar

At 5:55 p.m., a 30-year-old Nekoosa man called to report his truck stolen while at a bar in Saratoga. He was unsure where the truck is now, but stated that the spare key was in the back of the truck. Truck is listed as stolen.

October 29

Three llamas and a pig

At 8:45 a.m., a woman called to report three llamas and a pig on a highway in the town of Wood. The animals then ran into a nearby yard. Contact was attempted at the home, but no one answered the door. It is unknown where the animals ended up.

Courthouse filming

At 8:59 a.m., it was reported that there was a man walking around the courthouse in Wisconsin Rapids with a camera. A deputy spoke to the 42-year-old man who stated he was going to keep recording as it is within his right to do so and that he was conducting an audit. He was advised not to cause a problem.

Neighbor wars

At 4:25 p.m., a Rudolph man called to report that his neighbor, a 74-yaer-old Rudolph man, keeps coming over to his residence and threatening him. The 74-year-old man told his neighbor that he is willing to shoot him because he has prior military experience. A deputy advised the man that the neighbor does not want him on his property and was warned for his behavior.
