WHITEWATER – Taylor Purgett, a Marshfield High School graduate, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team during the 2018-19 season.

Purgett, a freshman at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in finance.

The Warhawks concluded the 2017-18 season ranked No. 21 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, and begin the new season in the same spot. They are the only Division III program ranked among the Top 25.

UW-Whitewater is ranked fifth by the NTCA among Division II and Division III schools.

The Warhawks opened the season at the McKendree Bearcat Hammer Open at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, IL.

After a trip to Valparaiso’s Crusader Classic on Nov. 3-4, UW-Whitewater hosts the Warhawk Classic Presented by Roto Grip Nov. 9-11 at AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee. The tournament is set to host 11 teams ranked among the NTCA’s Preseason Top 25.
