Glenn H. Thompson, of Neillsville, died on October 22, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of Marshfield Medical Center.

Glenn was born November 15, 1941 in Neillsville, WI the son of Forest and Isabelle (Skar) Thompson.  He was baptized in the Neillsville United Methodist Church and attended Neillsville Public Schools.  On September 22, 1969 he married Janice (Dwyer) Bollom.  She passed away on June 25, 1993.  Glenn was a hard worker.  He worked at H.H. Van Gorden’s Feed Mill, Henry Marquardt Excavating, North Central Dairy and retired from Nelson Filter.  After his retirement, he cleaned at the Old American Legion Hall until his health prevented him from working there any longer.  Glenn loved all animals, especially his cats.  He enjoyed watching the many birds on his lawn, riding his electric scooter all over town, sitting on his front porch listening to his music and visiting with people who walked by, fishing whenever possible, and playing cards and games.

Glenn is survived by 2 sisters, Dorothy Jacoby and Marie Henning both of Neillsville, 3 sisters-in-law, Ann Thompson of Marshfield, Mary Thompson of Eau Claire and Dianne Thompson of Rockford, IL, step-son, Mike Bollom of Florida, special friend, Carla Strozewski, many nieces and nephews, friends and relatives, and his cats, Pretty Girl and Blackie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister, Carol Ayers, brothers-in-law, David Bertz, Ron Henning, Don Ayers and Lee Jacoby.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.  A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Gesche Funeral Home.  Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate.  Providing music will be Sharon Bjerke.  Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery in the Town of Hewett.
