For the City Times

SPENCER – Do you have a hat the means something special to you – maybe an old baseball cap you’ve had for a while or a hat you wear just for special occasions? Then visit the Marathon County Public Library to hear about the history of hats on Nov. 1, 6-7 p.m. at the Spencer Library, 105 S. Park St., Spencer.

Anna Chilsen-Straub from the Marathon County Historical Society will give a presentation on historical ladies’ and men’s hats from the late 1800s through the 1970s. Come relive nearly 100 years of history and see how the styles evolved through the decades, and feel free to wear one of your own.

This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-659-3996 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5823.
