October 17

Suspicious person spotted outside home

At 7:43 p.m., a 40-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called to report seeing and hearing an unknown person hanging around her yard. She also reported that before 3 p.m. that day a vehicle in her driveway had been damaged and that the car cover was off. Extra patrol requested in that area.

October 18

Vehicle left in yard

At 8:08 p.m., a Port Edwards woman called to report that she came home and found an unfamiliar vehicle parked in her driveway. Police arrived and believe it’s possible that a neighbor had loaned their vehicle to someone and it was returned to the wrong residence. Arrangements were made to have the vehicle moved.

Ex wanted her stuff back

At 8:44 p.m., a town of 38-year-old Saratoga man reported that his ex-girlfriend – a 30-year-old woman – had broken into his residence to get some items she had. Deputies arrived, and after an investigation, the woman was placed under arrest and taken to the Wood County Jail.

October 20

Drunk and on the run

At 4:37 a.m., a Nekoosa man called to report that someone was at his back door, trying to get into the residence. When confronted by the home owner, the man, who appeared to be very drunk, took off running. The homeowner chased him for two blocks and eventually got him back to his house until officers arrived.

Beware of Facebook junker

At 11:07 a.m., a Rudolph man reported that he had contacted a man, after seeing his ad for collecting TVs and other items for a fee. The Rudolph man contacted the 17-year-old male and had given him cash to dispose of three TVs and one microwave. The man later spotted those exact items in a ditch off of Hwy 34.

October 22

Left on the side of the road

At 1:16 p.m., a 30-year-old woman called to report that she was walking on a highway in the township of Saratoga. Her boyfriend had been yelling at her and calling her names. He took off in his vehicle. Deputies located both parties, and they agreed to separate for the time being.

Woman locks herself in bank office

At 3 p.m., the manager of a Marshfield bank called to report that a 74-year-old woman had locked herself in one of the offices in the bank and refused to come out. Marshfield police responded as well as Wood County officers.
