MARSHFIELD—Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day, Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. – noon. On this morning, participants will be raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance with their yards.

Make a Difference Day is a great event to help out your community with friends, family, classmates, church groups and/or co-workers. A little bit of time, a little bit of muscle, and a lot of heart will make a big difference for Marshfield residents who are physically unable to rake their lawns themselves. Volunteers interested in helping on this day can register at volunteermarshfield.org, or email unitedway@tznet.com or call 715-384-9992.

Residents in need of assistance with their lawns should call United Way to see if they qualify for assistance. Anyone receiving help on this day must be home on the morning of Oct. 27. Additionally, residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to bag all the leaves raked by the volunteers. Please contact the United Way at 715-384-9992 with any questions.
