MARSHFIELD – For 12 years, Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) has worked in partnership with Marshfield Clinic Health System Center for Community Health Advancement to prevent youth substance abuse in Marshfield.

Marshfield Mayor Bob McManus was part of MACY’s annual volunteer recognition banquet held in September at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield. During the banquet, the mayor recognized community members who dedicated their time and efforts to help achieve MACY’s vision to help make Marshfield the best place to live and raise a family.

MACY’s work focuses on reducing and preventing underage drinking, prescription drug abuse, heroin use, marijuana, and methamphetamine use in addition to addressing youth mental health disparities. MACY has over 200 members from 35 different organizations.

Over the past year, members of MACY have volunteered a collective total of over 1,673 hours towards MACY’s efforts.
