Edith (Scholtz) Kunze, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at their home in Plover, Wisconsin, with family at her side.  She was born on December 16, 1933 in Neillsville, Wisconsin.

Edith will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob, of 66 years; three sons, Kim (Debbie) Kunze, Brad (Georgene) Kunze, Chuck Kunze (Lauren, life partner); two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Roberts and Cherie (Larry) Stuhr and one sister, Joyce (William) Hill.  She will also be fondly remembered by her eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by one grandchild and two brothers and two sisters.

At the young age of 13, Edith began her career as a part-time “soda jerk” at the Kerns Rexall Pharmacy in Neillsville.  Along with Bob, they started Kunze Building Supplies in Neillsville. They also purchased the Fullerton Lumberyard building in Neillsville and established Kunze Decorating Center.

Edith loved spending time with her family, volunteering for their kids groups (Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls) and entertaining family and friends at their home and cabins.  A pillar of strength to everyone around her, Edith was always selfless, generous and caring.

After retiring, Edith and Bob split their time between summers in Wisconsin and winters in Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held for Edith at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 prior to the service at the Gesche Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to:  The American Cancer Society, 2100 Riverside Dr, Green Bay, WI 54301.

Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.

Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Edith’s family with arrangements.
