Alberta McLendon, 81, Marshfield, and formerly of Trenton, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

There will be no public visitation or service.

Alberta was born on May 31, 1937 in Trenton, New Jersey, to Paul and Margaret (Jones) Potts. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ. She enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse and specialized in geriatrics until her retirement in 2007. She relocated to Marshfield in 2014 where she continued to be cared for by her daughter, Claudia Johnstone.

She enjoyed crocheting, making thousands of blankets throughout her lifetime, donating many to others and those in need.

Alberta is survived by a son, a daughter, and 4 grandchildren. Her son is Donald A. (Lisa) Swanson Jr. and his children are Adam Swanson and Jessica Sullivan; her daughter is Claudia (fiancé – Edward Reyes) Johnstone and her children are Sara Jean and Chelsey Ann Johnstone. She is also survived by a brother, Frank (Gwen) Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in Alberta’s name to House of the Dove, Marshfield.
