MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tigers scored a decisive 49-14 win over D.C. Everest Oct. 5 at Beell Stadium in Marshfield.

The Tigers led 21-7 at halftime and scored three touchdowns in the first 3:15 of the second half to put the game away early. Quarterback Ryan Krueger threw for 264 yards and a school record-tying five touchdowns, as the Tigers stayed unbeaten through their first eight games of the high school football season.

Preston Wagner caught two of those TD passes for 88 yards. Caden Pearce highlighted the Marshfield win with a 77-yard kickoff return for another score, as Marshfield outgained the Evergreens 415-144 in the VFA West matchup.

The game was likely the final regular season home game at Beell Stadium, which is getting replaced with a new facility adjacent to Marshfield High School next fall. The Tigers will likely be hosting two playoff games at Beell as one of the top teams in Division 2. Marshfield will wind down the regular season with a game Oct. 12 at Wausau-West.
