Author to speak on Cole family research

MARSHFIELD – Author DuWayne H. Hansen will speak on “A Decade of Research on the Cole Family” at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library.

Hansen will speak on the family’s history and his research process.

DuWayne H. Hansen of Ohio is being presented with the 2018 Genealogy Family History Book Award for his work on,  “There Were Giants in the Earth in Those Days: Fourteen Generations of the William Cole Family in America.”  Mr. Hansen’s extensive family research shows in the details, strong documentation, and organization of the book.

The Genealogy Family History Book Award is given to the author of a genealogy book that best documents the history of a Wisconsin family and, in the opinion of the judges, made the most valuable contribution to public understanding of Wisconsin’s made the most valuable contribution to public understanding of Wisconsin’s past during the preceding calendar year. The award is presented jointly between the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society.

The presentation at the library will take place Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.
