MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Utilities is celebrating Public Power Week, October 7-13, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.

“We are proud to be community powered,” said Marshfield Utilities General Manager Nicolas Kumm. “Public power puts the people of Marshfield first, and Public Power Week gives us the chance to emphasize the advantages of locally grown, locally owned power to our citizens.

“Our service is reliable and safe while maintaining rates near the lowest in the state. We take pride in providing customers resources to keep them comfortable, connected with family and friends, and healthy. Marshfield Utilities is proud to have served Marshfield for 114 years.”

Marshfield Utilities invites community members to attend an open house event Oct. 10, 4-7 p.m., at 2000 S. Central Ave., Marshfield.

Enjoy hands-on activities, prizes, free food, photo-ops, and free safety glasses for the first 250 kids.
