Tigers clinch division with Homecoming win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tigers celebrated Homecoming by winning the West Division of the Valley Football Association at Beell Stadium on Sept. 28, defeating Oshkosh-North 36-0. The Tigers improved their record to 7-0, and 6-0 in the VFA West. The win clinched the second consecutive West Division crown for Marshfield.

Marshfield led 7-0 after one quarter and 17-0 at halftime. The Tigers put the game away with a 19-0 run in the third quarter. Marshfield outgained the Spartans 331-210.

Brant Bohman carried the ball 14 times for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Baierl had eight rushes for 55 yards. Caden Pearce had five carries for 33 yards. He also caught a six-yard touchdown pass. Ryan Krueger and Will Voss each had touchdown passes for the Tigers.

Marshfield will host D.C. Everest on Oct. 5, in the final regular season game in Beell Stadium history. Starting next fall, the Tigers will be playing in their new stadium which is currently being built adjacent to Marshfield High School on East Becker Road.
