WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A Marshfield woman has entered an innocent plea to charges of stealing prescription medication and money from vulnerable adults.

Amy Leikness made an appearance in Wood County Court on Aug. 22 to enter the plea. She’s facing numerous charges of theft involving both cash and prescription drugs, along with several charges of bail jumping.

In some cases, Leikness is accused of manipulating the victims into giving her money using false stories. In one instance, she told the victim that her daughter had just had surgery and needed money, while other times she tried to get the victim to borrow money from a bank that Leikness would later repay.

Leikness also stole pain medication from victims.

Online court records indicate the cases against Leikness date back to May, with the most recent one filed on Aug. 3. She is scheduled to return to court on all charges Oct. 26.
