Ruth M. Kane, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Home With Friends Assisted Living, Plover.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 am until service time. Father Nathan will officiate. Burial will take place in Dexterville Cemetery. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ruth was born on January 13, 1934 in Neillsville, the daughter of Dexter and Marian (Howard) Hiles. She attended Cranmore and Dexterville elementary schools and Pittsville High School.

She married Bruce Miltimore and they divorced. She later married Orley “Bud” Smith and he died in 1983. She then married John Kane Sr. on June 5, 1995 and he died on June 19, 2017.

Ruth had been a homemaker and also had various jobs outside the home, including, Opportunity Development Center and Ocean Spray. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, playing cards, softball and bowling. She also enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports, especially the Brewers and Packers. She loved to listen and dance to country music but most of all loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandy Miltimore of Stevens Point and granddaughters, Lisa Mullins, Kelly Diallo and Rebecca Miltimore and great grandchildren, Hunter Mullins, Rylan King and Remington King. She is also survived by a brother, William (Louann) Hiles and many step children and step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son, Russell Miltimore and a brother, Bob.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Home With Friends Assisted Living for the care given to Ruth.
