Violet was born on July 4, 1931 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Hannah (Moen) Trachte. Her birthdate was a perfect fit with her red hair and fiery disposition. Her father died when she was 16 leaving her to help raise her younger brothers. She was united in marriage to Paul Bredemann on September 28, 1949 at Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville, WI and raised nine children. Paul and Violet farmed in Lindsey, WI. for many years, leaving much of the farm work to Violet as Paul owned his own construction company. In 1980, she became employed at The Marshfield Convalescent Center (Atrium) as a baker until retiring in 1996.
She enjoyed dancing and card playing. It was rare to not see her at the Eagles club playing Sheepshead on Tuesday nights. Family gatherings weren’t complete until some type of card game was played. Even on the brink of leaving, if the cards came out, she could always stay just a little while longer!
Violet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield where she was a member of the Ladies Aid group and sang in the choir for many years.
Violet is lovingly survived by her children, Barb Jacobson, Caledonia, MN, Ronald (Connie) Bredemann, Hewitt, WI, Bev (Tony) Shookman, Marshfield, WI, Karen Shookman, Green Bay, WI, Kathy (Duane)Meidl, Pam Holubets, Patti (Rich) Coffren all of Marshfield, and Cheryl (John) Weister, Oconto Falls, WI., a daughter-in-law, Terry Bredemann, 23 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. What a legacy to leave behind.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Bredemann (2012), son Ken Bredemann (2003), and son-in-law, Robert Jacobson (2011), Her parents, Lawrence & Hannah Trachte, brothers, Marvin Trachte, Dale Trachte, Laverne Trachte, and Lavere Trachte.
