Wood County sheriff race interviews: Ashbeck, Becker, Hiller, and Flewellen

MARSHFIELD — After over a dozen years in office, Wood County Sheriff Thomas Reichert did not seek re-election on the 2018 ballot. Voters, however, will see four candidates connected with county law enforcement on the Aug. 14 primary ballot.

On the Democratic ticket, Wood County Jail Administrator Theodore Ashbeck, Jr., of Wisconsin Rapids, and retired Wood County Sergeant John Hiller, Marshfield, will contend for a spot in the general election; while Wood County Captain Shawn Becker and Wisconsin Rapids Police Lieutenant Joel Flewellen, both of Wisconsin Rapids, will appear on the Republican ballot.
