MARSHFIELD – Since March 1, the Central Wisconsin State Fair (CWSF) has introduced major changes to the fair in an effort to reinvigorate its namesake event.

The fair organization’s Executive Director Dale Christiansen recently released new details on upcoming entertainment and the schedule for the new carnival.

“This year’s fair will be kicking off on Tuesday, August 21 with Junior Fair Day,” he said. “We will be offering half price adult gate admittance, with children 12 and under being free on Tuesday. Tuesday’s activities will consist of three high dive acts, day-long events in the free Family Tent, and demonstrations and educational exhibits in the new Wonders of Wisconsin tent. Not to mention the many new food vendors that will be available for your sampling.

“In the grandstand, will be a highly acclaimed a cappella group – Six Appeal. Grandstand seating is free and track-side seating is still available for $5 per person.”

Christiansen said that North American Midway Entertainment will be set up for full view in anticipation of a Grand Opening kick-off on August 22 at noon and will run through the duration of the event.

Visit the fair’s Facebook page to get more information over the upcoming weeks, including: ride specials, contests, and other news.
