CWSF hosts first standalone draft horse show

MARSHFIELD – The Central Wisconsin State Fair (CWSF) Draft Horse Show was held July 13-15 on the CWSF fairgrounds. The event is new to CWSF and was introduced due to the rescheduling of the fair to an earlier weekend, misplacing the annual draft horse show that once ran in conjunction with the fair.

The CWSF Draft Horse Committee said that it was a “tough decision to make the show a standalone event, but the hope is with this change the show will grow.”

The inaugural show welcomed 60 draft horses in multiple hitch and halter divisions.

The sixth annual Marshfield Parish Pull was held July 13 at the fairgrounds, as well. Draft Horse Show organizers say “there are discussions about combining the Draft Horse Show with the Parish Pull next year to make for a ‘Horse Powered Weekend’ in 2019.”
