MARSHFIELD – The Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing welcomed 78 members to the Annual Alumni Banquet at the Marshfield Holiday Inn & Conference Center on June 23.

Alumni President Dottie Thiel Liesen welcomed the group and gave an overview of the historical project about the School of Nursing. A designated area in the Marshfield museum inside the old library – now the 2nd Street Community Center – has been set aside for the project.

Banquet speaker, Kris Leonhardt, local editor, stressed the important impact the School of Nursing has had on the hospital and the city of Marshfield. She addressed the group about printing a book on the history and memories of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Input was requested from previous graduates.

Special recognition was given to members of the 75th, 60th, 55th, and 50th graduating class. Gertrude Bauer Blackwood represented the 75th Anniversary Class of 1943.

For more information about the alumni or to donate items for the museum exhibit, contact Dr. Dorothy (Dottie) Liesen at 715-387-2439.
