MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield American Legion Post 54 Blue Devils have a 10-game winning streak in their rearview mirror. After a 0-4 start to the summer, the Blue Devils improved their record to 10-4 with two wins in a doubleheader with Merrill June 28 at Athletic Park.

Marshfield won game one 4-1. Post 54 took an early 1-0 lead, but Merrill tied the game in the fifth inning. But the Blue Devils put three runs on the board in the sixth inning to secure the victory. Connor Jasurda got the win. He gave up one run on two hits while striking out 11. Logan Matson led Marshfield at the plate with two doubles and an RBI. Antonio Anaya went 2-for-3 and Isaiah Baierl went 2-for-2. Devin Toburen, Ryan Krueger and Ben Gust drove in runs as well.

Marshfield won the second game 12-1. A five-run sixth inning put that game away for the Blue Devils. The win goes to Will Voss. He gave up one run on five hits in four innings. Offensively, Isaiah Baierl had a big game, going 4-for-4 with two runs batted in. Eli Drexler went 3-for-4 with two RBI’s. Jaeger Johnson drove in two runs as well.
