PITTSVILLE – Pittsville continues a three decades old tradition with its Heart & Sole Road Race.

The race serves as the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department’s major annual fundraiser with proceeds earmarked for equipment and several community projects, including two college scholarships. The Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services to the city of Pittsville and a large portion of Wood County.

The 32nd annual Heart & Sole Road Race will be held at Riverside Park in Pittsville on July 3. All runners and walkers are welcome. The 2-mile and 5-mile races start at 7 p.m.

A free — no registration needed — Kids Quarter Mile is held just before the main event for children age 10 and under with a prize bag at the finish for all.

Register for the Heart & Sole Road Race online at getmeregistered.com. Registration forms may be obtained from the Pittsville Fire Department or Pittsville Family Dental. Registration is due by July 1.
