Scheibe

MARSHFIELD – In honor of Staff Sergeant Andrew Scheibe, Mitten’s Home Appliance is holding an event to extend their appreciation for military service in the community.

Scheibe, who is a salesperson for Mitten’s, was recently called for active service over the next year and is training through the month of June

“We are running a Military Service appreciation for him June 16,” said C.W. Mitten. “We will be giving out military-style Mittens shirts – limited quantity 200 – (and) grilling out for the public between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.”

In addition, five percent of the sales that day will be donated to the American Legion

“The military is extremely important to our local business because many of our current and former military members work and live in our community,” added C.W. “My grandfather served in the South Pacific during WWII, my father was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam days, another past owner – Wayne Radlinger – served in the Navy in Vietnam, John Sikora, one of the Mitten’s partners, served in the Navy, and many others have helped us along the way with military backgrounds.

“Looking back, our local store wouldn’t be where we are today without those people who served.  Supporting Andrew and his family during his military service is important to us, because, he along with others, are defending our freedom.

“I think this is a great opportunity for people in our community to stop down and thank Andy for his service.”
