Tiger girls soccer on to sectionals

ASHWAUBENON – The Marshfield Tiger girls soccer team is headed to the sectional round of the playoffs, after picking up its first regional championship in four years.

Marshfield beat Ashwaubenon 5-2 on June 2, to capture a Division 2 regional soccer championship, the team’s first since 2014.

Nina Hoshimoto scored four times for the Tigers, who improved their record to 5-8-4. They will face Pulaski in a Division 2 sectional semifinal match on June 7.

Nicole Simon scored the other Marshfield goal.

Kate Schilling had two assists for the Tigers and Mikayla Brueggen had three saves in goal.
