Legion artwork unveiled
Rick and Tom Merkel unveil commissioned artwork produced by local artist Gene Wesley on May 14. The painting depicts the “Huey” helicopter’s significance in the Vietnam War and will be displayed in the entrance to the Merkel Brothers Vietnam Veterans Memorial Patio at American Legion Post 54. The patio is scheduled to be dedicated May 23. Hub City Times staff photo
