Roman J. “Buba” Gawlikoski, 88, Stratford, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 10:00 am on Wednesday until service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Buba was born on August 23, 1929 in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, to Adam and Helen (Gliniecki) Gawlikoski, and was a graduate of Stratford High School. He married Ruth Ann Zoellner on November 24, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. He was a dairy farmer his entire life.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth and their children, Casi Gawlikoski and Barry (Nya) Gawlikoski, all of Stratford and grandchildren, Journey, Josie, Johnna, Gavin, Maggie and Huntur. He is also survived by sisters, Beatrice Easker of Hatley, Sylvia Gawlikoski and Angeline Meyer, both of Stratford, and Elinore (John) Callahan of Bristol, and a brother, Gary (Charlene) Gawlikoski of Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Julian and Edwin “Wrangler” Gawlikoski and a sister, Virginia Schoen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Joseph’s Parish.
