Parkinson’s support group to provide education on Duopa

MARSHFIELD –Marshfield Area Respite Care Center will host its monthly Parkinson’s Support Group on May 17 at 1 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church.

The guest speaker is Cara Kozik, MSW, RN. Kozik is a nurse with AbbVie, the makers of Duopa.  The Topic of discussion is: The Duopa Patient Partner Program.  Kozik will provide an educational overview of Duopa, while a Duopa Patient Partner will share their personal experience with Duopa and Parkinson’s disease.

The group is open to the public for Parkinson’s patients and their families and meets every third Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 205 E. Third St, Marshfield. This event is also open to professional caregivers of those who work with patients affected by Parkinson’s.  A certificate of attendance will be given to professionals for training hours.
