Ervin R. Mews, 91, Junction City, owner of Erv’s Plumbing, Heating and Septic Service, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore, with Rev. John Ofori-Domah officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Junction City. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, and from 10:00 am until service time on Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.

Ervin was born on December 20, 1926 in Auburndale, to John and Augusta (Panzloff) Mews. He married his wife of 68 years, Delores Wayerski, on September 2, 1950. Together they raised four children.

Ervin worked for Consolidated Papers for 17 years before receiving his Master Plumbers License and started his own business with the help of his son. He enjoyed his work so much that he just retired two years ago.

Through the years he looked forward to fishing in Canada every year with family and friends. He had a passion for building, helping others, and running his business.

Erv is survived by his wife Delores, and four children: Linda (Bob) Raykowski of Junction City, Steve (Renee) Mews of Stevens Point, Doreen (Kief) Valentine of Appleton, Gina (Gary) Smith of Bancroft; Eight grandchildren: Kelley (Todd) Krebsbach, April (Roscoe) Lamovec, Amber (Michael) Yenter, Evan Mews, Mackenzie Valentine, Rachel Valentine, Kenneth (Rachel) Smith, Kayla Smith; and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sister Jean Bushman and brother Sylvester Mews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harvey Mews, Edward Hamus, Clarence Hamus, sisters, Elaine Huebner, Frances Oertel, Minnie Ress and Viola Ress.
