John C. Jensen

John C. Jensen, 80, Milladore, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Monday, May 7, 2018.

There will be no public funeral service. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

John was born on November 30, 1937 in the Township of LaGrange, Monroe County, to Richard and Mora (Dickinson) Jensen and was a 1955 graduate of Tomah High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Fort Sheridan, IL as a policeman, and in Germany, serving from October 3, 1955 until his honorable discharge on October 2, 1958. After his honorable discharge he moved to Milwaukee and drove semi for Tractor Transport, delivering Allis Chalmers Tractors. He later began working as a bartender at the Chalet in West Allis where he met a little French waitress and the love of his life. He and Adoume Mediene Cooney were married on August 3, 1964 in West Allis. They moved to Mauston, where John owned and operated a fertilizer plant. He sold the business and managed the Alaskan Supper Club and Bowling Alley. He went on to manage the heating and cooling department at the Mauson Co-op. He later bought and operated dairy farms in Vesper and Milladore.

John enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing and watching sports and loved farming.

He is survived by his wife, Adoume, two children, Keith Jensen (Tina Jensen) of Milladore and their children, A1C Samantha Jensen of Wichita Falls, TX and Cynthia Jensen of Milladore; and Michelle (Tom) Dankemyer of Chili and their children, Kristen Pelot, Brian Jensen (Patricia Oleinik) and Tyler Pelot, all of Chili. He is also survived by two sisters, Joanne Jensen and Jean Steven, both of Dayton, TN and a brother, James (Patricia) Jensen of Viroqua. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mora Jensen.
