Heckes writes regarding complaint

Dear editor,

I received notice that the Wisconsin Ethics Commission dismissed the complaint filed against me by unidentified person(s) during the recent campaign for Circuit Court judge.  That complaint alleged I was not a Clark County resident.  I always believed that there was no legitimate reason to question my Clark County residency.

The Commission found that there was no reasonable suspicion that any law violation occurred.  Throughout my campaign, I consulted with the Commission to ensure that I accurately completed the necessary forms.  The Commission’s decision confirmed that my intent was to provide correct information on those documents.

I am grateful to every person who supported my campaign.  As a Clark County resident, I will continue to live, work, and serve others.  I remain committed to provide quality legal services to my current and future clients.
