Katharyn A. Rucker, 74, Pittsville, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, with her loving family at her side at her home in the Town of Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Veedum Moravian Church, Pittsville, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service. Rev.Wanda Veldman will officiate. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville, at a later date.  Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville is assisting the family.

Katharyn was born on June 27, 1943 at her parent’s home in Arpin, WI. She was the daughter of Floyd and Margaret (Kleinschmidt) Dye. Katharyn attended Veedum Grade School, as well as Pittsville High School.  She was an active member of Veedum Moravian Church & choir, Veedum 4H club, Modern Woodman Group, and assisted at multiple church camps.  Katharyn was employed at Pinecrest Supper Club,  Arpin Dairy, St Joseph’s Hospital, and Marshfield Clinic.

She was united in marriage to Dennis  Lee Rucker on October 29, 1960 at Veedum Moravian Church.  They lived in rural Pittsville, where they raised their six children on the family farm.  Katharyn took pride in her family, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting and baking.

Kathy is survived by her Husband, Dennis and their children, Pamela (Dale) Stangl, Marshfield; Shelly Lechner (Steven Ratsch), Pittsville; Curtis (Carey) Rucker, Wisconsin Rapids; Jeffrey Rucker, Marshfield; Kimberly (Tracy) Powell, Stevens Point; and Jodi (Craig Mitchell) Meyer, Wausau.  Also survived by 17 Grandchildren:  Jeremy and Marissa Stangl; Melissa (Timothy) Schmidt, Joshua (Nicole) Lechner, and Jeremiah (Samantha Steponik) Lechner, Steven (Shannon) and Kristeen (Kurtis Leach) Ratsch; Haley (Kyle Gerriets), Micaela (Marshall Stieber), Sadie, Jacob, and Peter Rucker; Cassandra Rucker; Kolten Rucker; Devon, Cody, and Braden Meyer.  Great Grandchildren:  Aiyanna, Chloe, Olivia, Ryker, Landen, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Lily, Brook, Martinelle, Claire, David, Hudson, Presley, and Damien.

She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Donald Dye, Richard (Sandy) Dye, Larry (Linda) Dye, Marjorie (Gary) Meyer, Marvin (Sharon) Dye, John (Kathy) Hoffman, Leonard (Martha) Hoffman, Judy (Robert) Black, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Leonard Hoffman, mother-in-Law Bernita Rucker, father-in-Law Glen Rucker, sister-in-law Sharon Dye, Nephew Robert Dye, Nieces Michelle and Shannon Dye.

Katharyn’s family would like to send a special THANK YOU to the staff at Marshfield Medical Center Oncology/Palliative Care Center, and Ascension Home Hospice Nurses for taking such wonderful care of our Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, your compassion will never be forgotten.
