Marshfield Tiger softball on a high note

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tiger softball team wrapped up April on a high note. The Tigers won two games at the Stevens Point tournament April 28 and defeated Chippewa Falls, 4-3. Megan Donahue got the win, while striking out six batters. Emily Draeger hit two runs while driving in three runs for Marshfield.
The Tigers also beat Kenosha Tremper, 13-5. Kate Konrardy was the winning pitcher in that game. At the plate, Konrardy, Draeger, and Donahue each homered.
The Tigers began the final week of the month by splitting two extra-inning games at the Woodside complex in Mauston.
The Tigers lost a close game to conference rival Stevens Point, 8-7, in nine innings. Donahue had two home runs and four RBIs in that game. Jordan Pretsch doubled, homered, and drove in two runs, while Emily Draeger had four singles.
In the second game, Marshfield defeated Wausau West, 7-3, in eight innings. Donahue got the win for the Tigers. She also had three doubles and two runs batted in. Taylor Barwick had two singles and two RBIs.
On Friday, April 27, Marshfield won both games of a doubleheader with Holmen. The Tigers won game one, 12-1, in five innings. Kate Konrardy was the winning pitcher.
Offensively for Marshfield, Jenna Jakobi had two singles, a double, and two runs batted in. Rhiannon Corozolla singled, doubled, and drove in two runs, while Draeger had three singles and two RBIs and Donahue had a pair of base hits and a pair of runs batted in.
In game two, the Tigers won 8-3. Barwick was the winning pitcher. She allowed three runs over four innings of work. Jenna Jakobi had a single, a triple, and two RBIs. Donahue singled, doubled, and plated two runs. Pretsch had a pair of base hits and a run batted in. Holmen was undefeated going into the games with Marshfield.
