Taking it in stride: Marshfield Tiger boys track take dual meet at home

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Tigers’ boys’ track team won a dual meet with D.C. Everest April 5, at the Boson Company Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School. The Tigers beat the Evergreens 280-207, and in the process won 12 of 14 events.
For Marshfield, Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson won the 60-yard dash with a time of 6.52 seconds. Also for the Tigers, Eric Kubash was third at 7.14, and Blaine Neinast and Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann were fifth at 7.24. Malachi Fyksen was 8th at 7.34.
Junior Caden Pearce won the 220, with a time of 25.84. Jackson Ott was second, Logan Mechler third, Micha Jensen fourth and Brad Dickinson fifth. Sam Hinson of Marshfield won the 440, with a time of 58.62. Simeon Fyksen was third at 1:03.13 and Riley Daniel was fourth with a time of 1:03.62.
Tiger Ben Claessens won the 880, with a time of 2:21.11. Kubash took first place in the 60-yard hurdles, with a time of 8.46. Kyle Tremelling was second, Dawson Tysver finished third, Joey Goettl was fourth and Jarreth Schaefer fifth.
The Marshfield team of Garrett Holland, Brayden Richardson, Matthew Rutschow, and Joshua Gayle won the 4 X 160 relay with a team time of 1:16.34. Marshfield also won the 4 X 440 and 4 X 880 relays.
Goettl won the high jump with a leap of five-feet, six-inches. Drake White-Bergey was third, at 5’, 2”. Clay Preston took fourth at 4’, 10”. Michael Sternweis was fifth at 4’, 8”.
Marshfield’s Adam Maki won the pole vault, with a height of 12-feet, nine-inches. Dustin Altman was fourth at 10-feet, and Claessens was 7th at 9’, 6”.
Tremelling won the long jump at 18’, 8”. Sam Hinson was second in that event, at 18’, 1”. Kubash took fourth at 17’, 9” and Neinast was fifth at 16’, 10”.
Goettl also won the triple jump with a leap of 39’, 4”.
