Marshfield finishes first, second at indoor track invites

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tigers boys’ track team took home top honors March 20, at the Tiger Invitational held at the Boson Company Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School. Marshfield finished first with a team score of 130. Loyal was second at 97.5, followed by Marathon with 86. Stratford finished sixth with a team total of 44.5. Pittsville finished in eighth place with a team score of 22. Auburndale totaled 14 points to finish 11th.
For Marshfield, Carter Chojnacki and Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson were dual winners. Chojnacki finished in first place in the one-mile run with a time of 5:01.92. He also took first in the 880 with a run of 2:16.02. Teammate Joseph McKee was a close second with a time of 2:16.30, and Tiger Josh McKee was right behind them in third place at 2:16.83. Jacob Dick of Marshfield was sixth in the event, with a time of 2:20.18, and Justin Kang came in eighth at 2:26.12. Teammate Nathaniel Phillips was 10th at 2:28.73.
Elhendy-Gunnarsson took the top spot in the 60-yard dash with a time of 6.58 seconds. Tiger teammates Logan Mechler finished ninth at 7.00, Blaine Neinast 10th at 7.10, Alejandra Mayagoitia 12th at 7.14, Logan Durham and Bradley Hendrickson 14th at 7.18, Micha Jensen 17th at 7.23, Josh Gayle 18th at 7.24, Brayden Richardson 20th at 7.28, Eden Egger 21st at 7.33, Malachi Fyksen 22nd at 7.34, Jaiger Halvorson 23rd at 7.35, Simon Baity 24th at 7.38, Simeon Fyksen 26th at 7.42, Garret Holland 28th at 7.46, Alec Adams 30th at 7.55, Gaven Ronning 36th at 7.81, Spencer Wirthlin 38th at 7.87, Logan Mueller and Nolan Hertel 40th at 8.02, Michael Sternweis 42nd at 8.05, Westin Happe 43rd at 8.06, Dane Tollefson 44th at 8.15, Tyler Katzenberger 46th at 8.22, Cole Stamp 47th at 8.24, and Michael Rutschow 48th at 8.41.
Elhendy-Gunnarsson also won the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, three inches. Teammate Eric Kubash was second with a leap of 18 feet, six inches. Neinast was sixth in the event at 17’9″, Kyle Tremelling finished seventh at 17’7″.
Marshfield’s Caden Pearce won the 440 with a time of 58.66 seconds. Fellow Tiger Jackson Ott was second with a run of 58.97. Sam Hinson was 14th in the event at 1:02.38, Alex Simon was 20th at 1:04.44, Hertel was 21st at 1:05.09, Phillips was 22nd with a time of 1:05.84, Riley Daniel was 23rd at 1:05.88, Thomas Onan came in 25th at 1:06.28, and Braden Beauchamp was 30th at 1:07.59.
Pearce also finished in second place in the 220 with a time of 25.87 seconds. Mechler was fourth in the event with a time of 26.06. Other Tiger finishers were Ott in sixth place at 26.13, while Joey Goettl finished seventh at 26.18, Bradley Dickinson 9th at 26.78, Richardson 11th at 27.10, Malachi Fyksen 12th at 27.28, Mayagoitia 13th at 27.37, Neinast 14th at 27.50, Simeon Fyksen 17th at 27.60, Holland 18th at 27.66, Durham 19th at 27.76, Baity 20th at 27.79, Halvorson 21st at 27.85, Ethan Baka 22nd at 27.94, Alec Adams 27th at 28.47, Wirthlin 28th at 28.53, Ethan Dagit 29th at 28.58, Drake White-Bergey 33rd at 28.76, Daniel 36th at 28.88, Egger 37th at 29.12, Gayle 38th at 29.35, Hertel 39th at 29.41, Ronning 40th at 29.53, Beauchamp 41st at 29.85, Gavin Hill 42nd at 30.35 and Happe 45th at 31.60.
Joey Goettl took first in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, eight inches. He was also third in the high jump at five feet, eight inches. White-Bergey, Colin Nienbauer, Clay Preson, Dickinson, and Bredemann tied for 22nd in that event. Tiger Adam Maki was second in the pole vault, at 12 feet. His teammate Dawson Tysver was third, at 12 feet. Dustin Altman was sixth, at 10 feet. Holland was ninth with a vault of nine feet. Logan Mueller was 11th at eight feet, six inches, Joshua McKee and Tyler Katzenberger were 16th at eight feet, Dane Tollefson 22nd at seven feet, six inches, and Joseph McKee 23rd at seven feet.
Tiger girls take second at home
The Marshfield Tigers girls’ track team finished in second place on March 22, at its own track and field indoor invitational at Marshfield High School.
D.C. Everest finished in first place with a team score of 101. The Tigers were second at 96.5. Marshfield won two of the events: Lindsey Steffen took home first place in the high jump at a distance of four feet, ten inches, and her teammate, Tayllor Thompson, took second in the event, with a jump of 4’8″. Kaydee Johnson was ninth at four feet, four inches.
The Tigers took the top two spots in the 60-yard dash. Gracie Holland took first place with a mark of 7.76 seconds. Teammate, Carly Brickley was a close second, with a time of 8.00.
Holland was second in the 220, with a time of 29 seconds. Tiger teammate Elaina Kirschnik took 11th at a time of 32.09.
Holland was a third-place finisher in the pole vault, at nine feet. Lilly O’Brien took eighth in the event, with a vault of eight feet. Madysen Bohman was tenth, with a mark of seven feet. Pittsville’s Ana Klein took first in the event, and in the process set a school record, with a vault of nine feet, nine inches.
Johnson, meanwhile, finished in third place in the triple jump, with a mark of 31 feet, two inches. She also took sixth in the 60 hurdles, at 10.56. Steffen was eighth in the event, with a time of 10.69. Thompson was sixth in the 440, with a time of 1:13.22. O’Brien was eighth, coming in at 1:13.90.
Tiger Samantha Hoch finished in fifth place in the long jump, with a leap of 13 feet, 10 inches. Brickley was 19th in the event, with a mark of 11 feet, four inches. Dehlia Kilty took seventh in the 880, with a time of 2:55.30. Ali Geiger was tenth in the event, coming in at 3:00.00.
Marshfield’s Sophia Schrodi finished in fifth place in the one-mile run, with a time of 6:28.48.
In team events, the Tigers took second place in the 1280 relay, with a time of 3:17.20. In the 640 relay, Marshfield finished third at 1:28.25. Marshfield’s Orange Team B finished in 12th place, at 1:40.47. Orange Team A came in 16th, with a time of 1:43.72.
In the 1600-meter relay, Marshfield was sixth at 4:57.23. Marshfield Orange Team A was 11th at 5:35.92.
In the 3200 relay, Marshfield finished fourth, with a time of 12:31.64. Marshfield Orange was fifth, at 12:47.40.
