Columbus athletes named in Cloverbelt all-conference

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s Columbus Catholic had three first-team all-conference selections for the 2017-18 basketball season.

On the girls’ Cloverbelt East team, senior Marissa Immerfall was a first-team choice, while Nick Malovrh and Jarred Mandel were named to the boys’ squad.

Immerfall led the Dons with 13 points per game, and 6.4 rebounds per contest. Teammates Addison Baierl and Morgan Albrecht were honorable mentions. Baierl was second in scoring for Columbus, with 11.5 points per game. Albrecht was third with 11 points a contest.

Owen-Withee’s Jennifer Wendler was the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference Player of the Year.

On the boys’ side, senior Nick Malovrh took top honors as the Player of the Year in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference. He was also named to the all-conference first team, along with Columbus teammate Jarred Mandel. Malovrh led the Dons by scoring 19.7 points per game. Mandel was the second-leading scorer for Columbus, with 11.8 points per game.

The all-conference second team features Columbus junior Bryce Fuerlinger and Dons’ senior Noah Hansen. Junior Noah Taylor was an honorable mention.
