Belva “Fern” Schwanebeck

Belva “Fern” Schwanebeck, 85, Pittsville, passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at House of the Dove.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran, Pittsville, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Gary Markworth will officiate. Burial will take place in the Town of Sherwood Cemetery at a later date.

Belva was born on March 9, 1933 in the Town of Cary to John and Myrtle (Fay) Dickson. She was united in marriage to Wayne Schwanebeck on November 6, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. He passed away on May 11, 2011.

Belva was proud of being a farm wife and worked very hard to keep things running smoothly. She also loved watching and feeding hummingbirds.

She is survived by her children, Vicki (Steve) Kreifels of Nebraska City, Deb (Joe) Wesolowski of Janesville and Rick (Maria) Schwanebeck of Granton. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris), Melinda (Jason), AJ (Brittany), Derek, Sam, and Ryan and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by her brothers, Forest (Char) Dickson and Wilbur (Marjorie) Dickson, sisters, Lila Joneson and Betty Dickson, and sisters-in-law, Joyce Ziebart and Edna Schwanebeck, and many nieces and nephews.

Belva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John and sister, June.

The family wishes to thank the staff at House of Dove and Sunset Gardens in Neillsville for their excellent care.

In leau of flowers, memorials may be given to the House of the Dove and Marshfield Cancer Research Center.
