June A. Cepress, 96, Arpin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Wells Nature View Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Auburndale, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Mark Lundgren will officiate. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

June was born on July 13, 1921 in Arpin, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Mount) Stoflet. She attended Clover Nook School in the Town of Arpin until the 8th grade when she began working on the family farm. As a young lady she became employed at Roddis Lumber and Veneer, Marshfield.

She was united in marriage to Verlyn W. Ebert on February 12, 1944 and he died in the service of his country during World War II on March 26, 1945. She then married Joseph A. Cepress on August 23, 1947 and they were married for 68 years. He passed away on September 24, 2015.

Following her marriage to Joe, June raised their family and assisted in their construction business. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary to Post 475 of Arpin since 1947. She had been an active member of the Arpin Cemetery and Park Board, the Arpin Advancement Association, the Arpin Lions Club and the Arpin Centenial Committee.  She also enjoyed cooking, listening to polka music, taking care of her grandchildren and gatherings at the family “shack.” June’s passion was her flower beds. “The weeds didn’t stand a chance.”

She is survived by her children, Jerry A. (Melodee) Cepress, of Arpin, Jeff A. Cepress (Lori) of Arpin, Jeanette A. (Ron Redmond) Cepress of Marshfield and John A. (Sue) Cepress of Arpin and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Cepress of Kenosha. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Joe IV (Marie), Mike, Tim (Jenny), Jason (Tammy Grassel), Marty (Jackie), Josh (Anna), and Aaron Cepress, and Daniel Lieble, and a step granddaughter, Tami and 9 great grandchildren, Mallory, Makatlyn, Lil Joe, Jadin, Sawyer, Sedonia June, Mason and twins, Eleanor and Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and 2 sons, James A. on October 25, 1993 and Joseph A. III on October 12, 2017 and 9 siblings.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Wells Nature View, 2711 Apple South Apple Avenue, for the wonderful, loving care and being June’s family for the last 15 months. You will never be forgotten.

Memorials may be given to the family and they will use them to improve and maintain the Arpin Cemetery.
